The TV Movie aired numerous times on the two HBO Olé stations during 1999; La Prensa

TV was introduced to PANAMA in 1956. Although the series was not shown on any local terrestrial TV channels, it may have been seen via signals from neighbouring countries:

  • A run of Spanish-dubbed William Hartnell stories was seen in Costa Rica in 1971-72, followed by Tom Baker from 1980-83.
  • Omnibus editions of Tom Baker serials were also broadcast (in English) on the US Armed Forces Network (AFRTS) closed-circuit channel in the Panama Canal Zone in 1986.

Spanish viewers could see a sub-titled edition of the 1996 TV Movie several times during 1999 via the HBO Olé cable channels broadcasting from Mexico and Argentina.

For HBO Olé 1, Panama could receive both the 'East' and 'West' feeds - the former could be accessed on Cable (channel 3), fibre optic (channel 30) and antenna (channel 3), but the latter only on fibre (channel 29). HBO Olé 2 (renamed HBO Plus) was also only available on fibre optic (channel 31).

  • See the HBO OLE page for more information.
